Why sending BNB costs so little
A native BNB transfer is a plain value transfer on an EVM chain: 21,000 gas, the same as sending ETH on Ethereum. The difference is the gas price, which BNB Smart Chain’s validators keep very low, so the sender’s cost is a tiny fraction of a cent paid in BNB itself. Unlike a token payout, there is no contract call and no new balance entry to write.
The narrow basis is worth stating plainly. Of the exchanges Cambio compares, only three quoted it BNB payouts in the period behind the estimates. Read the rows as estimates from a narrow basis, not as a survey.
Before you receive BNB
- BNB Smart Chain, not the retired Beacon Chain. Old BEP2 BNB addresses started with bnb1; that chain has been shut down. Use a 0x address on BNB Smart Chain.
- The same 0x address works on Ethereum. BNB sent on BNB Smart Chain is not visible on Ethereum. Pick the right network on both sides.
- Keep a little BNB for gas. Moving any token on BNB Smart Chain later needs BNB for gas.
BNB fee questions
How much does it cost to send BNB on BNB Smart Chain?
A plain transfer uses 21,000 gas at a very low gas price, so the network cost is a small fraction of a cent.
Why does this page compare so few exchanges?
Only three quoted Cambio BNB payouts often enough for an estimate. This page says so instead of guessing the rest.
Is BNB BEP20 the same as BNB BEP2?
No. BEP2 BNB lived on the BNB Beacon Chain, which has been shut down. BNB on BNB Smart Chain uses 0x addresses.
